VIEKIRA XR is given on a once-daily dosing schedule.
Take 3 tablets once daily for 12 or 24 weeks
Your doctor will determine the length of treatment necessary depending on the subtype of hep C you have and whether cirrhosis is present.
VIEKIRA must be taken with a meal at the same time every day. Swallow tablets whole. Do not split, crush, or chew the tablets. Do not drink alcohol within 4 hours of taking VIEKIRA.
Do not miss or skip doses of VIEKIRA or change your dose without first talking with your doctor.
Your doctor may also add ribavirin twice daily to your VIEKIRA regimen. Ribavirin is a prescription medicine that is primarily used to treat chronic hep C and should always be used as directed by your doctor.
There are some medicines that you should not take with VIEKIRA XR. Tell your doctor about all the medicines and herbal supplements you are taking or plan to take, since some interact with VIEKIRA XR. Do not start a new medicine without telling your doctor.
