The medicines in VIEKIRA XR have been clinically proven to provide high cure rates.
In clinical trials, the components of VIEKIRA XR were taken twice daily with a meal. Cure rates varied by the subtype of hep C and whether or not the person had compensated cirrhosis. Your results may vary.
VIEKIRA, with or without ribavirin, cured* 95% to 100% of people with GT1 chronic hep C.
VIEKIRA without ribavirin cured* 100% of people with a subtype of hep C called GT1b.†
In 3 clinical trials, VIEKIRA without ribavirin cured 100% of people with GT1b chronic hep C, including those with and without compensated cirrhosis.†
Fewer than 2% of people stopped taking VIEKIRA in clinical trials because of side effects.
In patients with cirrhosis, 6% experienced serious side effects with 12 weeks of treatment, and 5% experienced serious side effects with 24 weeks of treatment. In patients without cirrhosis, 2% experienced serious side effects with 12 weeks of treatment.
